News from Languages & Travel France & Belgium, IDP Education Australia franchised office
Hello everyone !
In this e-news : the reasons why we decided to put on hold the 2008 Roadshow both in mainland France & Belgium while maintaining the Reunion Island one and what we are up to next !
1/ 2008 Roadshow in Reunion Island maintained, French & Belgian roadshow cancelled
It is official, we decided after much consideration to put on hold the 2008 mainland French and Belgium roadshow for the following reasons :
- we have not recorded a sufficiently significant positive impact on OUR bookings following the 2007 Roadshow
- we, as a private company, cannot afford putting all that effort without result with the extra risk of the event being jeopardized by external factors like last year’s strike in Paris
- we cannot afford to facilitate contacts between Australian & New-Zealand institutions and local French or Belgian institutions during a Road Show, while in France in particular some Australian or New Zealand institutions visit local institutions without using Languages & Travel – IDP as go-betweens
So, no Roadshow this year both in Belgium and mainland France.
The good news is that the Roadshow on Reunion Island is maintained (27th till 29th Nov. incl.). About 400 students attended the 2 events last year (3 planned for this year). The interest is growing for new destinations within Australia – other than Perth -, in particular the east coast. Max. 20 institutions will be accepted, a few places remain. 2/ What is next ?
We have put a lot of thought on our future marketing and we are going to work differently, do more “on the ground” work with a selected number of loyal partners. Less fairs. More presence around France. We do not exclude organising a some kind of a Roadshow in the future but with less partners. We will contact those institutions that have been loyal with us in the past to envisage future collaboration ; we will not be able to work with everyone as in the past.
